My approach to teaching is to create an academically challenging atmosphere, where all students can become independent, life-long learners.  Every student is a unique individual with different needs, but at the same time each will be expected always to do his or her best.

Students must be responsible for following rules, getting work completed with effort and pride, and being prepared to work and learn.

Goals by the end of the 2012-2013 school year…

•The student understands and uses different skills and strategies to read.

•The student understands the meaning of what is read.

•The student reads different materials for a variety of purposes.

•The student sets goals and evaluates progress to improve reading.

Homework, Missed Class, and Late Work

•Please create a consistent and quiet routine for homework.
•Late work may be worth ½ credit, 50% of their score.
•Our group work and hands-on curriculum is really difficult to make up outside of class. If you know of an upcoming absence, please prearrange for work to go home ahead of time with student.
•Students have as long to make up the work as they were absent. (ie.
Absent 2 days, get 2 days to make it up, etc.)
